OUR GOALS
There is clearly a
demand in Denmark today for new kinds of films written by people with
new things to say, a demand for stories that reflect the diversity of
lives and experiences in a Denmark that is becoming more international
and outward looking.
CSS intends to cultivate personal voices and original stories while
teaching the fine points of dramatic writing. Our intention is to
provide an open, non-elitist environment where
motivated students can flourish while meeting the daily obligations
that they may have outside the school.
We seek to expose
students to a variety of narrative traditions and story-telling styles
that have evolved in and outside of Europe, in part by inviting foreign
guest-teachers and teachers from related disciplines. Finally we will
verse students in pitching completed scripts to foreign as well as
Danish producers, and to establish and utilize support networks in
other countries.
